Kibbutz Nir Am

Founded in 1943 by pioneers from Bessarabia, Nir Am is a historic "Nation Meadow" where a rich tapestry of immigrants from Argentina to South Africa has cultivated 20,000 dunams of southern soil into a flourishing communal home. While its neighbors faced unthinkable tragedy on October 7, the kibbutz became a legendary symbol of survival when its security team—led by the strategic brilliance of security coordinator Inbal Rabin-Lieberman—held the line and prevented any loss of life, a feat of heroism that now invites your partnership to ensure this bastion of resilience remains fortified and secure for generations to come.

Meadow of the Brave

A Historic Outpost of Survival

Perched on a ridge overlooking the Gaza Strip, Nir Am is more than a farm; it is a storied landmark of Israeli history. Once the headquarters of the Negev Brigade during the 1948 War of Independence, the kibbutz has evolved into a diverse community that has spent eight decades absorbing waves of Aliyah and building a world-class agricultural sector. Its expansive grounds and historic water museum reflect a deep commitment to the land and the pioneering spirit of its Gordonia youth movement founders.

While the events of October 7, 2023, brought darkness to the region, Nir Am’s story is one of light and proactive courage. Upon realizing the scale of the threat, the local civilian security squad—under the decisive leadership of the village's 25-year-old security coordinator—mobilized immediately, engaging in a tactical standoff that successfully neutralized dozens of attackers before they could enter the residential area. Today, Nir Am stands as a miracle of the Negev, but maintaining this level of defense and supporting the psychological recovery of its families requires global solidarity. By twinning with or donating to Nir Am, you are supporting a community that has proven it knows how to protect its own, helping them upgrade their defense technology and continue their 80-year legacy of peace and strength.
