Community Spotlight: Netiv HaAsara

ree

Netiv HaAsara is a small moshav on the Gaza border — one of Israel’s most vulnerable communities. On October 7, it became one of the very first places attacked during the Hamas invasion, with terrorists infiltrating by hang glider as early as 6:39 a.m., before many other areas were even under alert.

The community was devastated — homes destroyed, lives lost, families displaced. But today, Netiv HaAsara is fighting back — not with weapons, but with training, preparedness, and unbreakable spirit.

Through the Magen 48 program, residents have completed all four stages of our civilian defense training — including our newest session focused on home defense and hostage response. These high-intensity drills mirror the threats they lived through on October 7th, helping them build the skills and mindset needed to defend their homes and respond with confidence.

“The Magen 48 training isn’t just professional — it’s a source of real security for our residents. After October 7th, our community was shattered. These trainings gave us back the belief that we can protect our children, our homes. Every session strengthens not just our skills, but our hope and confidence to come back home safely.”

— Eran Kasha, Head of Security, Netiv HaAsara
